Hourly Comic 2026
Happy Hourly Comics Day! The day of the year when artists dedicate a full day to sketching out the little moments of their life in one day.
This was my first year doing hourlies full on. - and I didn’t even sketch the time I spent drawing which was the majority of the day. Next time I will need to figure out how to distill my hour into one or two frames per hour so the drawing part of the day doesn’t take up such a majority of the time.
The highlight of my day was watching Hamnet. There is so much to say about this movie, but mostly what stands out to me is its message of how art can transform our heartbreaks (and perhaps even the more mundane parts of life too) into a moment of deep connection with the people around us.
A big shout out to Matisse, Roman, Stanley, David Sedaris and Chloe Zhao for providing me with lots of inspiration <3
Love,
Claire
A little about me:
I COME FROM A FAMILY OF ARTISTS WHERE FAMILY GATHERINGS OFTEN INVOLVE SKETCHBOOKS.
My dad is an animator, my granddad was a cartoonist and apparently my great granddad drew machine parts for steam engines. My uncle is a cartoonist, my brother draws and animates… so does my cousin. And from the looks of it, my kids are on track to be next in line.
After studying design at Parsons School of Design and l’École Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques in Paris, I began my career at Disney Feature Animation in California where I worked as a visual development artist on several films including Tangled and Frozen. Over time, my work expanded to include picture books and a range of collaborative projects. In the summer of 2024, I returned to Paris with my two kids, where you’ll often find me sketching in a café alongside my basset hound, Stanley.

beautiful!
Oh I love it! I’m admirative that you posted it and all cause I’ve done it but couldn’t find the time yet to clear it out and post it. Amazing exercise and so inspiring to see others do it. And of course I love the way you drew. 🫶
